Trinity Lutheran Church to dedicate building improvements April 23

When is the best time to tear up carpets, move furniture, and turn things upside down for construction work?  For Trinity Lutheran, that time was in the midst of the Covid pandemic. Church services were being broadcast online—few members were present in the church on Sunday. No Sunday school was being held for children. When meetings were needed, they were conducted in the fellowship hall, socially distanced with a “one person per table” arrangement.

On Jan. 20, 2021, after several socially-distanced planning meetings, the church council voted to undertake a number of building improvements. New energy-efficient LED lighting and replacement ceiling panels were installed. Walls received new paint and carpet was replaced throughout the building. The original tile floors in the kitchen and fellowship hall were replaced with vinyl plank. Three sliding or folding doors in the fellowship hall were replaced. New kitchen countertops and sinks, improved sound technology, and security updates finished out the project.

Tri-County Lumber and Tech-Zone provided most of the new materials and installation work. C & R Construction completed the ceiling panel replacement.  Several church volunteers provided considerable help with the project as well.

Trinity will have a special celebratory service to dedicate the renovations on Sunday morning, April 23, at 9:30 am, with fellowship and refreshments to follow.  Members and any community guests are invited to tour the building to see the improvements. Games and activities are planned for children. The public is invited.
